Futures Publicity Firestorm

Senator Ron Wyden (D) of Oregon correctly sensed that opposition to the Terrorism Futures Market was a no-brainer. And rightly so. Yet, futures markets are scarily correct in predicting events. It is said that Orange Futures are better than the weatherman in forecasting the weather in Florida. So if speculating in the future of terrorism prevents the events themselves, is it still morally offensive?
