Two Great Tastes That Taste Great Together...kinda.

Maybe I'm behind the times but I just learned that nearly every Emily Dickinson poem can be sung to the tune of The Yellow Rose of Texas. Wierd but true. Google it for yourself. In the meantime, try reading this poem with that song stuck in your head. It works!

Success is counted sweetest
By those who ne'er succeed.
To comprehend a nectar
Requires sorest need.
Not one of all the purple host
Who took the flag to-day
Can tell the definition,
So clear, of victory!

As he, defeated, dying,
On whose forbidden ear
The distant strains of triumph
Burst agonized and clear!
